Here’s an excerpt from an interview with celebrity makeup artist Patty
Bunch, whose clients have included Jenna Elfman, Debra Messing and Patricia
Heaton as well as the cast of Greek:
“I’m so dry.”
Solution: “You can’t have good makeup without good skin care. A lot of
younger women smoke, party and stay up too late. I can’t emphasize
moisturizing enough. Use the best product for your skin, not necessarily the
most expensive. If it’s got peptides, antioxidants or high-end technology in
it, you want to use it. Any kind of moisture depletes the amount of wrinkles
that will grow on your skin.”
“I feel puffy.”
Solution: “Some people eat late or go out to dinner and have shellfish. Then
it makes them puffy. Know the foods that are good and drain them from your
body. If you have an important day the next day, be careful about what you
eat the day before so you don’t get bloated.”
“I have dark circles.”
Solution: “The trick to hiding these is not to glob on a bunch of concealer.
Mix a light, hydrating concealer with moisturizer so coverage doesn’t look
dry and cakey. People who have bad dark circles need to heal them with a
treatment (like Kiehl’s Eye Alert and Yonka Phyto Contour - Eye Firming
Cream) underneath makeup, the top with a mixture of moisturizer and
heavy-duty concealer (like thebalm TimeBalm Concealer).”
I’ve been battling dry hair for the last few months. The particularly cold weather and indoor heating are taking their toll. Even after getting a haircut, but split ends were out of control. While trolling the aisles of my local Ulta for a solution, I saw a discount table and couldn’t resist. What better way to try out a product than when it’s on sale. If it doesn’t work, then you don’t have to worry about wasted money.
I picked up a set of Mizani’s Rose H2O Conditioning Hairdress and H20 Intense Night-Time Treatment. I suspected these products were created for African-American hair, but I was sold on the thick, delicious smelling pots of cream.

A quick look online when I got home confirmed that Mizani is a L’Oreal brand designed for African-American hair’s unique needs. Since the products do not contain any color, I didn’t think they’d be a problem on my naturally blonde hair.
I am so glad I did! The Rose H2O Conditioning Hairdress smells lightly of roses and has a thick, smooth consistency. A little of this miracle cream goes a long way (as I realized after the first time of using too much and ending up with slightly greasy hair). I’ve been applying a pea-sized amount to the ends of my long hair before blow-drying and in the morning if I’m not going to wash my hair, to help add some moisturizer to the ends.
(I’ve also been using the H20 Intense Night-Time Treatment, but I’ll discuss it in a separate review.)
After blow-drying, my hair is incredibly soft and very fainty scented with rose. When applied to dry hair, the scent is a little stronger and my ends don’t feel crispy at the end of the day.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has dry hair problems - regardless of ethnicity. The regular price of a jar may seem a little pricey, but with the tiny amount needed, I know this will last me for years.

I found this great article on TotalBeauty.com where reviewers with different hair types tried out conditioning hair treatments and masques. Check it out to find one that is right for your hair type:

I’d been hearing a lot about Kinerase’s new Brightening Face Serum in the last few months, so I was excited to try it out when I got a coupon for a delux sample. This product is meant to brighten skin and even the complexion by decreasing discoloration and age spots, while also reducting the signs of aging.

And unlike many greasy anti-agers, this product is non-comedigenic and hypoallergenic making it suitable for all skin types.
The product is light and pearly in color and has a slight citrus scent. I followed the recommendation of applying the product after washing my face in the morning and at night and following up with a moisturizer. I did this for seven days straight.
After the seven days, I was disappointed to see no difference in my skin brightness or texture. The only difference I saw was a slight pearly sheen after the product was applied, which, while desirable, is probably not worth the price tag of the serum. A light-diffusing cream or drop of highlighter added to my foundation can produce the same effect.
Maybe I didn’t give the product enough time to start showing results. Or maybe my skin is already bright and even enough. I know this product is a hot seller, so it must be working for someone.
What do you think of it? Is it the miracle serum it claims to be? Share your experience by leaving a comment.
