Tough on Zits: Avon’s Clearskin Professional Acne Treatment System
After I had my baby, the change in hormones made me break out worse than I have in years. Or maybe it was the lack of sleep. Either way, I needed some heavier guns in my face cleaning arsenal to help. I tried out Avon’s Clearskin Professional Acne Treatment System for a week. They compare it to the effectiveness of Proactive, which I’ve heard is for only the truly needy when it comes to problem skin.
The system consists of a face scrub, astringent pads and a face lotion. They contain salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and zinc hexapeptide-11 – which is supposed to help control oiliness. The scrub is pretty scrubby – it has large scrubbers that felt a little harsh, in a creamy cleanser. The astringent pads are textured and left my skin feeling pretty tight and dry. The lotion was light and went on smooth, but was a bit overdrying.
So I guess my acne wasn’t as bad as I thought, since the system worked a little too well for me. When I used the products individually with my usual products, my skin was a little less dried out. If you have super oily skin or bad acne, this is the strong stuff you’ve been looking for.
Have you tried the system on your bad acne? How’d it work for you?
