A Tropical Vacation in Your Bathroom: NUDE Moisturizing Body Polish

My husband and I spent a week in Tahiti for our honeymoon and had an amazing time.  The islands were so lush and had so many great sights and scents.  On a tour, we were amazed to be shown the rich offerings of the forests and fields – limes so sweet you could eat them whole, fresh coconuts, and delicious smelling flowers everywhere.  One of our favorite souvenirs that we brought back for ourselves and all of our friends was bottles of monoi oil.  In fact, I’m still hoarding one last bottle that I only break out for special occasions five years later.  Monoi oil is a beauty oil make from coconut oil and tiare (gardenia) flowers.  It smells delicious and is a great moisturizer.

I was super excited when I tried NUDE’s Moisturizing Body Polish and found out it was made with monoi oil.  Opening the jar and smelling that exotic aroma took me back!  The polish is made with sugar and monoi oil.  You apply it to dry skin and then rinse it off.  The sugar scrubs off dead skin, the water melts away the sugar and rinses it off along with the dead skin and the oil is left behind to moisturize your skin.  I loved how soft my skin was afterwords and the delicate scent of monoi that was left behind.  I also love that NUDE’s products are all natural and come in fun and funky recycled (and recyclable) packaging!
