Natural Products at the Drugstore: Sally Hanson Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy

Isn’t it great that natural products have caught on so much so that they are now available at the drugstore, supermarket and other mass retailers. And they don’t cost an arm and a leg either. For the price of other drugstore makeup, you can buy products that are chock full of botanical ingredients, vitamins and are paraben free. Sally Hanson introduced a line of natural products with the help of makeup artist Carmindy. Anyone who has seen What Not To Wear, knows how awesome this makeover show makeup artist is. She embodies the Beauty is Easy philosophy; constantly showing women how to do their makeup in a few easy steps an showing them what products will work best for them.

I tried out a few products from the line, starting with the Natural Highlighter in Pink Luster. This duo of creamy highlighters comes in a compact. One side is a pearlescant pink and the other a shimmery white. I used the highlighters all over: one day I used the pink on my eyelids and the white on my brow bones. The next day I tried the pink on my cheekbones and the white in the inside corners of my eyes. The though part is not going over board with the highlighter. But these two great shades are great for highlighting all sorts of areas.

The Forever Stay Eye Pencil in Pure Plum is a soft shimmery purple pencil. I used it as a liner, as an all over color on my lids and as both. It glides on super smooth, blends very easily and lasted all day without creasing or fading.

One of my favorite products was the Ultra Soothing Lip Tints. I tried these yummy glosses in cranberry, pomegranate and plumberry. The formula is rich and moisturizing, but wasn’t sticky. They have a light fruity scent and all three colors were sheer enough to look very natural. I especially like the plumberry – a purplish shade. These glosses were long lasting and left my lips feeling soft.
