Best Smelling Self Tanner, Hands Down: Rodial Brazilian Tan LIGHT

Rodial is a UK brand that has made it’s way stateside. Their Brazilian Tan self-tanners include celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Victoria Beckham, Kylie Minogue, Nicole Richie and Chloe Sevigny. And I can see why. This is the best self-tanner I’ve ever used.

Most companies have figured out how to make self-tanners streak free and give a natural looking color. But so far, the only company I’ve seen that has gotten rid of the stinky smell is Rodial. Some companies have reduced it and others have covered it up with even stinkier perfumes, but this product really does smell good.

This streak free gel contains avocado and coconut oils so it smooths on easily, absorbs quickly and also doubles as a moisturizer.  It has a hint of color going on and the full color develops within 2 to 4 hours. I did catch a hint of self-tanner smell when applying the gel, but it quickly disappeared, leaving a flowery coconut smell that was very pleasant.

There are two options for this self-tanner: Light and Dark. I tried the Light on my fair skin and foudn that it gave a very subtle glow. I reapplied the next day and developed a little more color. A fair as I am, I’d still like to give the Dark a shot to see if it gives me more of the “I just got back from vacation look”. Although the Light color is nice and subtle and probably won’t give away your self-tanning secret, but still make you look very glowy. The light shade is also great for perking up dull winter skin. I did get one little streak, but the color was so light that only I noticed it. Even though the formula is moisturizing, I live in a very dry climate and liked the results better after having applied lotion first.
