Affordable Luxury Skincare: Givenchy Peel Me Perfectly and Mist Me Gently

Givenchy has two great little skincare products to help keep your skin looking radiant: Peel Me Perfectly and Mist Me Gently. These cheekily named products can be used year round to exfoliate dulling, dry skin cells to reveal new skin and help keep in moisturized. The Peel Me Perfectly is a moisturizing facial scrub that contains exfoliating granules to buff off dead skin, oarweed extract and glycolic acid to provide natural exfoliation and a clay extract that helps cleanse the skin and tighten pores. The exfoliators aren’t very dense in this formula and it can feel more like a creamy face wash than a scrub – great if you have sensitive skin. The first time I used it I applied it after washing my face, because I wasn’t sure how much cleansing it would do, but the next time I skipped cleansing first and felt that it worked very well as a cleanser. I often have trouble with creamy formulas like this on my oily skin, but the formula rinsed clean, left my skin feeling soft and didn’t aggrevate my skin at all.

As great as the exfoliator was, I’m in looove with the Mist Me Gently. Since I don’t suffer from dry skin, I’ve never really found a need for hydrating mists. But this mist not only hydrates, it is also incredibly refreshing. As the weather is heating up, I find myself reaching for this spray during the day for a little pick me up. I also think it is helping combat my oily skin (ever hear of how dry skin will over-produce oil?). The pump spray has a super fine mist that falls gently on your skin. 2-3 sprays generously mists your entire face and neck. The mist is fine enough that it doesn’t interfer with your makeup and it fact seemed to help refresh mine and make it look a little better. The cool mist is nice on a hot day and is almost as refreshing as splashing cold water on your face. And a lot more practical – no makeup reapplication required! It has a very light scent that doesn’t linger – I’ve even sprayed this on my husbands face, to which he proclaimed, “that’s freakin’ refreshing” in a very manly fashion.
