The Power Of Aloe With Aloette’s Summer Defense Kit

Aloette is an extensive line of skincare and cosmetic products that (mostly) all contain aloe. This includes their Platinum line of anti-aging products. They’ve combined 3 of the Platinum lines best sellers into the Summer Defense Kit: Cellular Day Defense Firming Comples with SPF 15, Multi-Active Prevention Plus and Dual Action Bio C. The Cellular Day Defense Firming Complex with SPF 15 is a day cream that comes in a jar. The thick white cream has a citrus and sunscreen scent and went on smoothly. It contains grape, honey and meadow sweet extracts to provide gentle exfoliation and pomegranate, grape seed, green tea and vitamins C and E to protect the skin from damaging free radicals. And of course SPF 15 to protect from sun damage.

Since I suffer from acne prone skin, I was a little worried about using such a heavy moisturizer on my skin. It wore pretty well though – absorbing well and not leaving any sunscreen stickiness. My skin was a little greasy at the end of the day, but I didn’t notice any new clogged pores. If you have normal or slightly dry skin, you would love this cream. The formula is packed with all sorts of skin goodies, plus you get your moisture and sun protection all in one application.

The Multi-Active Prevention Plus Day Treatment is a lighter lotion that comes in a small pump bottle. It is a serum to be used between cleansing and moisturizing and contains (according to the packaging):

  • Ultrasomes – Micrococcus Lysate and Lecithin help remove UV damage and repair cell DNA
  • Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 – Acts as an intensive anti-wrinkle treatment to improve collagen production
  • Resveratrol – Free radical scavenger with anti-inflammatory and UVB protective properties
  • EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate) – Green tea antioxidant which prevents UV-induced damage
  • Pomegranate Extract – Organic extract with powerful antioxidant properties
  • Vitamin E – Shields cell membranes from airborne pollution and smoothes skin

This product is much lighter than the day lotion and doesn’t really seem to have a scent. I used it alone and, as recommended, under the day lotion. It absorbed quickly and didn’t really seem noticeable once applied.

Rounding out the kit is the Dual Action Bio C. This tiny jar contains only vitamin C powder that can be added to any serum for an extra antioxidant boost. The packaging says that this powder provides a 6 hour time-release boost that prevent free radical damage, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and aid in stabilizing collagen levels. I tried mixing this with the serum and besides a little mess, it mixed in well and didn’t change how the serum felt when applied to my face.

I only had a few days to try out the products in this kit, so I can’t really say if they made a difference in fighting the signs of aging on my face. The ingredients are typical of what you see in most other antiaging products, so I think they should do what any good antiaging product should – minimize fine lines, tighten skin, provide moisture and sun protection. The products can be a little pricey, but when purchased online, they offer some great discounts and special offers – especially when purchased in a kit.
