Protect Your Colored Hair From Heat Styling With Kérastase Chroma Thermique Chroma Reflect Milk

When you color your hair, you’ve not only invested the time and money into having it colored, but are investing in the time and money to maintain it until your next touch up. Colored hair can be dry and brittle from the coloring process and is prone to fading from the sunlight and heat styling (hairdryer, flatiron, curling iron, etc). Kérastase has a new product that helps to soften your hair, protect it from fading and heat damage.

Chroma Thermique Chroma Reflect Milk is a heat activated apres-conditioner that adds shine and softness to colored hair. I don’t have colored hair, but I figured I could test out the shiny and softness claims. After shampooing and conditioning, I applied a small amount of the Milk to my towel dried hair. Leave on for 3-5 minutes and then rinse out. The formula is thin and has a fresh, pleasant scent. The pump bottle makes it easy to dispense just the right amount of product – especially since it is a bit runny. I blow dried my hair as usual and checked out how it performed throughout the day.

My hair tends to be a bit frizzy and the Milk didn’t make a dent in that. My hair did feel nice and soft after blowdrying and did have some nice shine. My hair didn’t look as smooth and sleek as the model in the ad, but I think I would have to dig out the flat iron in order to achieve those results – it’s my hair texture not the product that makes the difference. After sleeping on my hair, the frizzies were smoothed out the next day (my natural flat ironing technique). My hair did look super smooth and shiny then.
