KairosIn a why-didn’t-I-think-of-that moment, I was introduced to Kairos Acne Care Hair Care Products a few weeks ago. This line of shampoo, conditioner and styling products helps clear your complexion while you style your hair. If you suffer from acne, you may have noticed the effect moisturizing shampoos and conditioners and styling products can have on your skin. I get zits around my hairline and behind my ears. Luckily, these spots are usually less visible than the ones in the middle of your face, but they can be painful and annoying. You might get breakouts on your chest and back from oily products rinsing down your skin. Or, if you have hair that touches your face, like bangs, or you sleep on your hair, the dirt and oil can clog your pores.

Kairos products have eliminated pore-clogging ingredients and added salicylic acid to fight the acne you do have. Since I don’t really use styling products, I just tested out the shampoo and conditioner. My hair tends to be dry, so I was worried about what the salicylic acid would do to my hair. The shampoo is very much like a clarifying shampoo – which is good. You’ve got to get all the oil and gunk cleaned off your scalp and hair if you don’t want it clogging your pores. It also contains tea tree oil, lavender oil, sweet almond oil and chamomile. It had a bit of a medicinal smell (probably from the tea tree oil) and left my hair feeling very clean (not at all stripped). The directions do say to use only twice a week.

The conditioner was lightweight and did a good job of moisturizing and detangling my hair. It contains a higher concentration of salicylic acid as well as tea tree oil, lavender oil and sweet almond oil. After rinsing, my hair felt soft, but not slick. After drying, it felt nice, but did feel a bit dry by the end of the day.

After a week (2 uses) of the shampoo and conditioner, I have noticed a slight reduction in the zits around my hairline. Using my regular shampoo and conditioner everyother cleansing helped keeped my hair from feeling too dry.

If you use stying products, you might want to check out the hair gel, hair glue, hair spray and heat protectant thermal spray. If you’ve tried these products, let us know how they worked for you. Did they work well as a styler? Did they help reduce your breakouts?
