Voted In Allure Magazine’s Best Cheap Thrills: Rimmel Stir It Up Eyeshadow

I was able to sample one of Allure magazines Best Cheap Thrills: Rimmel‘s Stir It Up Eyeshadow. This little shadow compact pack a wallop of color and sparkle! The shadow mixes 3 different shades in one compact for color with a lot of depth. I tried a peachy looking color with coppery and brown splotches. I thought I’d get a subtle dark peachy shade. With in your face color names like, As If, No Way!, Out of the Blue, Sure… and Whatever… I shouldn’t have been surprised when my peachy Wassup? became a dark coppery shadow with tons of sparkle.

After getting over my initial shock of the dark smudge I’d just applied to my lid, I took some time to blend it in and really liked the results. The shadow has a creamy texture that was a little difficult to blend, but then stayed put all day. The effect was a great dark lid that looked pretty sophisticated. I say “pretty” because the large sparkles detract from the sophistication. With the dark color and the sparkles, I’ll be keeping this shadow for night time use only. Since it stayed put so well, I did need to use makeup remover to get it all off, but I think it’ll also make for a good option next time I hit the town for a night of dancing!
