Gentle Exfoliation With Sisley’s Buff And Wash Facial Gel

sis_buff&wash_gelFor some folks, the terms “gentle” and “exfoliation” don’t belong together in a sentence – give me your commercial-grade buffer and follow it with some tear-jerking astringent please! However, I’ve got sensitive skin and most buffing products too harsh so I was excited to find that Sisley’s Buff and Wash Facial Gel really was “gentle enough for everyday use.”

The Product: The gel is a peachy sand color with micro-exfoliative beads inside, feels cool to the touch, and it’s got a light herbal scent. Because the Buff and Wash is a gentler exfoliation, it didn’t leave my skin feeling tight after a wash (and this was during a visit to notoriously high-and-dry Colorado Springs). The directions warn against using it around your eyes, but I’m lazy and don’t like using a separate eye makeup remover, so I did it anyway. No corneas were scratched in the process, but I’d generally agree with the manufacturer that you shouldn’t use exfoliates around your eyes. I used this product every night for a week and my skin was never irritated from the buffing.

Sisley’s Phyto-Lip Shine in Sheer Nude was my favorite color all summer long and I was looking forward to trying some of their much-hyped skincare line. Unfortunately, at $120 a bottle, I just don’t think this product is worth the coin. Not that it’s bad, but I tend to believe cleansers are not something on which you should drop a ton of dough – especially one containing multiple ingredients with the paraben suffix. So, the search continues for a gentle buffer that doesn’t rival my electricity bill… to be continued!
