AmorePacific moisture boundLa Mer has some competition! If you want a rich moisturizer and have some cash to drop on it, you should check out AmorePacific’s Moisture Bound Vitalizing Creme. This rich face moisturizer can be used as a day or night cream and moisturizes like nobodies business.

The Creme comes in a beautiful jar with AmorePacific’s signature silver top. The unique design of the lid extends down the body of the jar, essentially unscrewing at the bottom. The moisturizer itself has a faint powdery scent and a very thick texture. It still smooths on easily though and a little goes a long way. The formula sinks in quickly, but still leave a bit of moisture on the surface of the skin. The company says that it is a time-release formula and it did keep my skin super hydrated all day long. If I hadn’t needed to wash of my makeup, I probably could have kept it on all night as a night cream without reapplication.

Despite the moisture left on my skin, my makeup applied well over it and I didn’t have any problems with running or creasing throughout the day. I usually use a lighter moisturizer for my skin, so I was worried I’d be shiny and greasy by the end of the day with such a heavy moisturizer on, but my skin felt only slightly more oily at the end of the day. The formulation is for dry skin types – which I’m not – so this was to be expected for my skin.

The formula contains sunflower seed oil for moisture and green tea leaf extract for anti-oxidants. It also contains proprietary Aqua-Sponge Complexe to help bind moisture to the skin and HyperAqua-L, a blend of emoliants to prevent water loss from the skin.
