215501We’ve reviewed a few products from Korres’ Kings & Queens in the past and had pretty good things to say about them; Kings & Queens is a line of body care (shower gel, scrubs, body milks, shimmering body milks, body butters and soaps) from Greece that is modeled after scents the “royals past” favored themselves. With names like Nefertiti Honey, Chinese Princess Jasmine, Queen Isabella Cinnamon Orange, and Aztec King Vanilla Pear, you are meant to feel transported to a bygone era of luxury and indulgence. Along with being mineral oil and paraben-free, these are “luxury” products at a not-too-luxury price point ($9-$15 each) – big plus!

I recently tried one of Kings & Queens’ new body scrubs (“Sultan of Granada Lemon Flower”) and it was the first time I’d gotten to try their stuff. The scrub is not as scrubby as others I’ve tried; more like a body wash with a bit of grit to it. Of course, for more sensitive winter skin, that’s really all you need. It comes out of the bottle thick and heavy and, as we’ve noted in other reviews, the scent is very strong. I really liked the Lemon Flower scent; it is very refreshing and crisp. The scrub lathers up thick and rinses clean, leaving a light scent on your skin. Overall, I really enjoyed the scrub and would continue using it. Unlike other body scrubs, this one didn’t leave my skin feeling like I’d just run sandpaper all over it, and I feel like I still got a good sudsing.

The press release reads: “During the long lasting dynasty of the Nasrid Sultans, the Spanish city of Granada was famous, among others, for its magnificent gardens. Every spring and summer, the blooming lemon trees sent over walls and into the palaces the smell of Paradise.” I love the marketing of these products; reading the back of the bottle, I can see myself laying on a chaise in the palace garden while servants fan me down and the crisp scent of citrus perfumes the air… Especially right now when my thermometer is reading 28F! Given the ingredients, price point, and fun marketing, I’d recommend Kings & Queens body products for a holiday gift – for yourself or a friend. One last note, these products are sold on beauty.com and at “select Nordstrom locations,” (Nordys has an excellent return policy and unopened items can be returned to beauty.com within 30 days for a credit or refund) so you can buy/gift these products knowing that you’re covered if they don’t work out.
