John Allan’s 5-Pack Travel Kit: For the Guy on the Go

I’ve been traveling a lot for work lately, and one problem I’ve always run into when traveling is that hotel shampoos and other products never seem to live up to the products I use at home. My hair always ends up doing crazy stuff or the hotel soap leaves an annoying residue, and I can’t wait to get back home to my stuff. I could probably put my stuff into small bottles, but frankly I’m a bit too lazy for that.
When I received a Travel Kit from John Allan’s to try out, I took it with me on several business trips to different parts of the country. It’s always interesting to see how the water in different cities interacts with shampoo and other products.
After trying the products in the Travel Kit several times, I’m really happy with how they function on the go. Obviously they’re designed to be TSA-compliant, and being able to just throw a bag full of good-quality products in my bag and go is very handy.
One nice thing about all of the products included is that they’re not heavy on scent. They all have a pretty neutral, almost non-existent smell, which many guys will like. The last thing you want is having your whole head smell like cherry blossoms or something.
The main thing I liked, though, is that in all of the different places I used the products, they performed at a uniformly high level. The shampoo and body wash always lathered really well, which can sometimes be a problem depending on the water, and the face scrub always left my face feeling super-clean without getting irritated.
The shaving cream was really interesting, because I actually put it on my face in a very light coat before using it with a wet/dry electric razor. This probably isn’t how John Allan’s intended it to be used, but honestly I rarely have the time to do a full shave with a traditional razor. It actually performs great going on before my electric razor. I definitely felt like I got a better shave than normal, and I didn’t need to apply any aftershave afterward, which was a nice change. Keeping the number of products you need to travel with to a minimum is always a good thing.
If you’re looking for a quality set of products for a low-maintenance guy, John Allan’s Travel Kit is a great option. I’ve made it a regular part of my travel bag, and plan to add full-size versions of these products to my everyday collection very soon.
