A Little Love For Your Dry Skin: Carol’s Daughter Love Butter

I can’t imagine anyone out there isn’t suffering from a little bit of dry skin right now. The end of the winter can be especially brutal. My skin can’t seem to stay moisturized without frequent applications of lotions and creams. An especially rich option I checked out recently is Carol’s Daughter’s Love Butter. The cheeky name is for a pretty straightforward product. The ingredients contain shea butter, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil and beeswax.

The simple list of ingredients doesn’t contain any parabens, petroleum, mineral oil or artificial colors. The one think it does contain in abundance is cinnamon. Cinnamon heavily scents this pot of rich body butter and a cinnamon stick sits atop the product when you open the lid. I found the fragrance to be a little over powering. I applied it to my whole body in the evening and woke up smelling like a cinnamon stick. The smell isn’t unpleasant, but it won’t mix with any other scented products or fragrances you want to use.

The consistency of the butter is very butter like, it is soft and feels very much like room temperature butter. It spreads around easily and soaks in pretty well, but still leaves a bit of a greasy layer on skin. It helped keep my skin from getting dried out for 24 hours, but the overpowering smell and greasiness, will keep it from my daily routine.
