If You Only Have 1 Minute, Use This: COOLA MineralFace Tint Sunblock SPF 20
I started this blog with the intention of speaking to like-minded, busy and/or low-maintenance women, who were interested in beauty products. Along the way I’ve strayed some, into the territory of products that don’t really fit that profile. What can I say? If someone wants to sent me a fancy $300 night cream to test out, I’m hard pressed to say no. But what I get really excited about still, are the products that I might actually use on a daily basis and can afford to buy for myself. COOLA’s MineralFace Tint Sunblock with SPF 20 is one of those products.
We all know SPF is a must year round, but as the weather warms and we plan on being outside more I actually think about applying it every morning. And I love the multitasking nature of products that contain an SPF, so that I don’t have to add another layer of product to my face, add another few seconds to my already harried morning routine or remember to use it at all. This tinted sunblock fits the bill and more. Not only do you get your sun protection, you also get a hint of color to even out your skin tone, along with some anti-aging antioxidants, light moisture and a lovely light rose scent. Plus you get what you don’t want with its 70% organic, 98% natural formulation. It also comes in a super handy, mess-free pump tube.
I’ve been applying this in place of my usual day cream for a week now and am really liking it. The formula is light and smooths on easily. It provides enough moisture for my dry skin, but I think it’ll also be light enough to still feel comfortable during the fast approaching hot summer days (can’t you just feel it!). The tint helps keep the dreaded ghost-face typical of mineral sunblocks from happening and provides a hint of color. My skin tone is pretty uneven, so I wanted a little more coverage than the tint provided and applied a mineral foundation over top. Here’s where my only complain comes in. The tinted block is a little sticky and it’s a bit tricky to apply the powder over top.
I have pretty fair skin and this tint blended in well for me. It’s only offered in one shade, so I’m not sure how well it’ll work on darker skin than mine. I did attempt to apply two coats one day to see if it would give better tone-evening coverage, but it ended up looking too dark on my skin. So maybe a second application would work better on darker skin.
Either way I’m hooked. For regular day wear, it helps keep my beauty routine easy. And I’ll definitely be wearing this poolside, picnic side and campfire side this summer when a little less makeup is warranted, but I still want a little confidence boosting coverage.
