Get Your Hair In Shape For Spring With Obliphica Hair Care

A few months back, I decided to try to be a redhead, going for a strawberry blonde. What I ended up with was a very nice, but way too dark red hued dark blonde. Instead of attempting another home dye job to try to lighten it, I hit up the salon and shelled out a cool $150 to have a load of highlights put. My hair color looks great, but my lovely undamaged hair (from months of being dye free during my pregnancy) was suddenly very, very dry. Knowing that the summer months tend to be pretty harsh on my hair, I’ve been trying to keep it as well moisturized as possible with heavy conditioners. Then I received some samples of Obliphica Hair Care products to test out.

This unfortunately named (and unfortunately packaged) line of products contains sea buckthorn oil which contains antioxidants as well as being moisturizing. I tested out two products from the line, which come packaged in orange bottles that look like they came from the 70′s: the Original Treatment Shampoo and Serum (they also offer a conditioner, hair mask and shine spray).

The treatment shampoo is a sodium chloride free formula designed for dry/colored/damaged hair. It is designed to help balance the pH of the hair, has UV screen to help keep hair looking its best and give hair a nice sheen. The formula has a sweet & spicy scent, requires a little extra to get a good lather on your scalp and rinsed out quickly. The Hair Serum is a thick serum with a similar scent to the shampoo and comes in a mess-free pump bottle. It can be used on dry or damp hair daily. Since I didn’t have the conditioner to try, I used this on my hair after the shampoo and towel drying. The directions say to massage it into hair, but since my roots tend to be oily, I kept it away from my roots. After blow-drying my hair looked and felt wonderful. The serum was light and didn’t weigh down my hair while leaving it feeling soft and shiny.
