I New Way To Love L’Occitane: Makeup!

I’m not sure if L’Occitane had a global presence the first time I traveled to France. All I know is that I was in love with the little shops that could be found in most French towns, selling hand creams and lovely smelling soaps. Years later, when I saw one state-side, I was excited to be able to restock my stash of the products I’d long since run out of. Now the company has stores all over the world and moved beyond ingredients only found in Provence (the southern area of France). As much as I still love a good lavender scented cream, I’m super excited about the new makeup line from the company.

I checked out the Color Cream and Lip Shine from the Pivoine Flora collection. The Color Cream is a blush duo with a blush color and lighter, shimmery highlight. I’ve been wearing Cream Beige, a terra cotta blush and pearly peach combination. The formula is a cream to powder that stays put in the compact and glides on to the skin like a powder. I just use my finger tips to apply the blush as usual and then the highlighter on top of my cheekbones. I’ve also been using the highlighter on my brow bone as it has such a natural-looking subtle shimmer. The paper compact is sturdy, has a mirror in the lid and shows the company’s commitment to reducing their environmental impact through their packaging choices.

The shimmery peachy-coral, Peche Lip Shine comes in a typical lip gloss tube with a brush applicator, but the applicator top is also made of sturdy paper. The gloss as a subtle shimmer, isn’t sticky, has a nice lightly floral scent and left my lips feeling super soft.

Both products are easy to apply and wear – easy swipe on and go. And with the company’s commitment to sustainable sourced ingredients, organic when possible and other earth friendly practices, you can feel good about wearing their products.
