Pixi is a perky little cosmetics company that combines the fun design and innovative products of a teen brand, with the colors and quality in their products of a brand aimed at a more mature age group. I’m in my early 30′s and find this to be the right mix. I’m too old to be wearing a lot of bright, punky colors to the office, but still appreciate a little whimsy in my cosmetics. I just checked out a few new products from Pixi that are making me look a little more youthful too!
The Line Relax Serum is one of the best serum’s I’ve used in a long while. The light moistuizer-like consistency was absorbed easily by my skin and didn’t leave any shine, stickiness or heaviness like you get with some serums. I used it under my moisturizer and makeup for a week and loved the way it left my skin feeling perfectly moisturized at the end of the day. Neither greasy nor dry patches for me! The formula is made with floral extracts, aloe, ginko biloba, witch hazel, cornflower and calendula it is aimed at de-puffing skin, smoothing fine lines and hydrating your skin.
Next up I used the Wakeup Concealer to help brighten up my sleep-deprived eyes. Trying to make my peepers look good after many sleepless nights with a teething infant has been my top beauty priority this week. The highly pigmented formula of the concealer is light and creamy. Even through it gives thorough coverage on under-eye circles and on red spots, it doesn’t wear heavy or thick. The formula stayed put all day – a great thing for an eye rubber like me. The product comes in a brush tipped tube by which you twist the tube to dispense the concealer onto the brush. I’ve never quite figured out how to use these applicators well. I can brush the product on, but am not able to get a smooth blending with the brush and end up using my fingers to blend it in. Small annoyance on an otherwise great product. It’s made with calming amaranth seed, anit-inflammatory bisabolol, revitalizing lemon myrtle, detoxing milk thistle extract and vitamin E.

The All-Over Magic powder is a great mulit-tasking product. Combining 5 shades of blush and bronzer in once compact, you can swirl the colors together or use them individually. I liked the overall swirl with the pale pinks up to the bronze shade as a blush, the paler shades for an overall glow and the bronze shade alone as a bronzer or eyeshadow. The possibilities are endless and the colors can be combined to suit every skintone out there. (There’s also a darker palette available too).
Combining all three products gave my tired skin a refreshed look, covered my undereye circles and gave me a glow that garnered a few compliments from my co-workers – and a few confused looks when I told them I was exhausted from being up with my infant all night.
