Now Everybody is Covered! Burt’s Bees New Sensitive Skincare Line

Love is a mild term to describe how I feel about Burt’s Bees products. And I just got to try two new reasons to love them even more: Sensitive Eye Cream and Sensitive Night Cream from their new Sensitive line of skincare products. I would think that Burt’s general use of natural ingredients would already be great for people with sensitive skin, but I’m sure this is what’s really called for when you have reactive skin. Ingredients like cotton and rice extracts, aloe, eyebright and anti-inflammatory white genepi extract all help fight the redness and inflammation of sensitive skin. And of course they are fragrance-free and hypo-allergenic.

I don’t consider my skin to be sensitive – I don’t get rashes or hives or anything like that. But a couple of weeks back I had been starting to break out with little red pimples in a couple of spots on my face. I hadn’t been using any new products, but thought maybe it was the change in weather or stress causing it. I didn’t think much of it though when I received samples of these products to test out and started to use them. I was applying the night cream to my face and neck and the eye cream to the area around my entire eye, after washing my face in the evening before bed. Within 2 days my skin had cleared up! Needless to say I’ve been hooked ever since.

The Night Cream comes in a glass pot and has a nice light scent. The cream is thick but smooths on easily. Although it takes a little massaging to get it to absorb, it wears light and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized without any greasiness. It does a great job of moisturizing my dry skin and keeps it feeling nice until morning. I’ve also been wearing it during the day time and it works great under my makeup. There is a day time moisturizer available in the line too.

The Eye Cream comes in a genius tube. I’d like to see this on more products! The tip looks like it is covered, but has a little slit in it so it dispenses just a little cream when you squeeze the tube, but then seals it back off. No mess and probably helps preserve the product. The eye cream has the similar light scent as the night cream and is a mid-weight cream. It absorbs easily and has been keeping the skin around my eyes very soft. I’ve been applying it day and night and it doesn’t irritate my eyes at night (you know how some creams seem to seep into your sleeping eyes?) and is great under my makeup during the day.
