Sensitive And Dry? Check out Atopalm Intensive Moisturizing Cream
Among the first products I reviewed when I started this site (4 years ago!) was Atopalms Body Wash and MLE Body Lotion. Formulated for those with dry and sensitive skin, I liked them on my dry skin, but thought of a better tester when I received a sample of the Intensive Moisturizing Cream. My co-worker suffers from eczema and always seems to be on the hunt for products to help moisturize and relieve the itching of this common skin condition. Eczema sufferers can be more sensitive to the various ingredients in products than your average non-sufferer, so products like Atopalms that are free of parabens and are based on plant derived ingredients can work well for them.
I asked my co-worked if she’d try out the sample I received and after a perusal of the ingredients list, she agreed. She reported back a few days later that it worked great! It was not-greasy, absorbed easily, but was also long lasting and seemed to create a barrier on her skin. She liked the nice, light scent (with no added perfumes) and didn’t have any irritation. The small sample didn’t provide enough cream for a longer test to see if it helped with her eczema, but 3 days of using it proved to me a good, non-irritating moisturizer.
The star ingredient in Atopalms products is their ML – Multi Lameliar Emulsion, which “mimics the lamellar structure of the natural skin lipids.” My co-worker said it seemed similar to CeraVe products, which she’s had dermatologist suggest to her, but that it was longer lasting.
