What was once considered the butt of jokes about cheap products, home shopping television channels have been steadily getting classier over the last few years. One notable addition has been the beauty brands selling their collections through these venues. David Evangelista is one of the latest to join the offering as HSN. His diverse line of hair care products has been as fun to test out as their quirky names and given me great looking hair.
I first checked out the Hydrate Daily Hydrating Conditioner because my hair has suddenly decided to revolt against me and the colder weather that finally decided to visit Colorado. The formula is thin and coats hair well, but I was worried that it lacked the heft to really moisturize my hair. After rinsing my hair felt soft and was easy to comb out when wet. Even after blow drying, it still felt soft and had great movement and shine. Although it’s for all hair types, I’d definitely recommend this one to anyone with fine hair and the formula was very lightweight.
Next up, I sprayed on some Shield Smoothing and Strengthening Leave-in Conditioner. Although I didn’t need a detangler after the conditioner, I wanted to take advantage of the heat styling protection it was offering. Sure enough I had no crispiness after my blow dry. So I reached for the t.n.t. Thickening & Texturizing Cream. This light orange gel-like cream was easy to apply and left my hair looking thicker and piece-y. It didn’t feel sticky or heavy and left my hair softly styled.
The next day, my roots were looking a little less than clean. But instead of reaching for a rubber band so I could sport a ponytail, I grabbed the hush…Volumizing Dry Shampoo. I have a love-hate relationship with dry shampoo. I love the idea of it: spray it on, brush through and it looks like you’ve washed your hair without having to take the time to wash, dry and restyle. But I find most of them to be sticky, smelly, gritty feeling and hard to wash out. This was none of those things. It’s a love-love with this aerosol product. Easy to spray in, I then used my fingers to rub it into my roots, brushed and was out the door. My hair actually felt cleaner (and not like I was covering grease with powder) and did have good volume all day long. The next morning it washed out easily and I haven’t felt any build up from it since. The only downside I see is that I think a bottle will get used up in only a handful of applications, so I’ll have to save if for when I’m truly time pressed. Check out Amazon’s price now!
