Lisa Hoffman’s Day Cream SPF 15 is one of the products in her day and night care collections.  The cream, which is really more of a light lotion in texture, is aimed at covering all of your daily face care needs: moisturizing, providing anti-aging treatments and sun protection.  It’s one of those handy products that can par down your daily skin care regimen, saving you time and money.

Although the cream is a bit on the pricey side at $75 for a 1 ounce bottle.  It’s pretty exclusive right now too, available only online and at Bergdorf Goodman in NY or Fred Segal in West Hollywood. But you’ll save money over buying a moisturizer, an anti-ager and sunscreen to apply daily.  Plus, one of the pluses of this product comes in it’s packaging - the pump is airtight, helping keep the product fresher longer.  The cream itself is also very light and only one squirt is needed to cover your entire face (maybe 2 if you add in your neck and decoltage - which is a good place to be using anti-agers and sunscreen btw).

The scent of this product is very faint and slightly powdery.  The formula contains some natural ingredients in addition to anti-aging peptides Matrixyl 3000, Dermaxyl, and Haloxyl .  The airtight packaging helps keep these ingredients from degrading, so they’ll be at their most powerful from the first use to the last.

I really enjoyed trying this moisturizer.  It was comfortable to wear and even though my skin tends to be oily, I didn’t feel greasy at the end of the day.  Since the cream is fairly light, I’d be curious to see what someone with dry skin thought of its moisturizing abilities.  I also appreciated that the product was practically scent free, so I didn’t have to smell a product all day or have it interfere with my fragrance.

Have you tried this moisturizer on your dry skin?  Or have you tried out another one of Lisa Hoffman’s products?  Let us know what you thought of them.

Lavanila RollerballVanilla has to be one of the most delicious smells out there!  I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like it.  Lavanila’s products use vanilla as the base scent for their products.  I recently found their Vanilla Grapefruit scent comes in a portable rollerball bottle.

I really like the grapefruit and vanilla combination - it takes down the heavy warmth of the vanilla and makes it a more crisp scent that is wearable in the summer.  The rollerball bottle is also super convenient for taking the scent with you.  Although the perfume is super concentrated and I rarely find reapplication to be necessary.

Lavanila is also a great because of the added bonus of getting an all natural product, with 30 vitamins and minerals, amino acids and anti-oxidants and free of petrochemicals, phthalates, mineral oils, sulfates and parabens.

M LabHarrods is definitely the most exclusive department store I’ve ever been too.  Look past the tourists milling around and the fun Christmas window displays (live ice skaters!) and you’ll find one of the best selections of luxury goods around.  While I must admit that my favorite place in Harrods is the food hall, perusing beauty products is probably where I spend the most time.  M Lab is a no expenses spared line of anti-aging products that, up until recently, was sold exclusively at Harrods.  The minimalist black bottles and simple labels can betray the complexity of the ingredients in each formula.  They also hint at the astronomical price tags!  Luckily, now that M Lab is available in the US through their website, www.mlabonline.com, the prices are a little more reasonable without the terrible exchange rate thrown into the mix.

Since I’m pregnant and can’t use products with retinols in them for the time being, I gave samples of the entire M Lab line to my mom to test for me.  She said that all of the products had a nice consistency and a pleasant smell.  She also liked that, although the products all have a high concentration of active ingredients (up to 74% for the treatment serum), they didn’t irritate her skin.

The cleanser and toner aren’t at all drying and she found that the treatment cream, treatment serum, day treatment with SPF 15, eye cream and body treatment weren’t oil, didn’t interfere with her makeup and even though the samples only lasted for a few days use, she thought her skin looked a little more plump.  The treatment cream, serum and day cream are all a similar product containing peptides, anti-oxidants and hydrating ingredients, so it depends on what you are looking at them to achieve.  Do you want a cream for day or night, a day cream with added SPF or a more concentrated serum?  My mom preferred the regular treatment cream as an all over facial cream.

Since the biggest drawback that my mom found, was the price, it’s helpful that M Lab offers a travel collection of all but the body treatment cream, so you can try before you make the commitment to buy.  It’s too bad that they don’t offer the body treatment cream with the travel collection, since our faces aren’t the only places that show age - our hands and upper chests especially need a little extra anti-aging TLC.

Although not yet offered in the US, M Lab has an Anti-Aging Blemish control line available in the UK.  For those of us that suffer from the effects of youth and age all at the same time, I have my fingers crossed that they’ll add it to their US website here soon.

T'Fivve Undermakeup Moisutre Cream

You may have read some of my previous reviews of the products in T’Fivve’s line of anti-agers for those with sensitive skin.  Here’s one more that my mom has been raving about.  The Daytime Undermakeup Moisture Cream is similar to the other products, she’s been using from the line.  She found it to be non-irritating and helped smoothed wrinkles and cleared away light scars.  She liked that it isn’t greasy like most anti-aging creams and stays clean feeling -even helping to set her makeup for the day like a primer.  The one big difference is that, while being very similar to the Anti-aging Skin Revitalizing Complex for Day and Night, it is a much lighter formula.  This is a great alternative during the heat of the summer months or for those who want an anti-ager, but don’t need a ton of extra moisture.
