Stila put out some fun new products in May - some subtle, some sassy!
The Silk Shimmer Lip Gloss and Silk Shimmer Eye Shadow Wash are a great way to add a subtle shimmer to your lips and eyes. Both in pale pink “Kitten”, work well alone for a hint of golden shimmer or over you lip color or matte eye shadow. I especially like to pair them over a dark fall or winter color to soften their color and add sparkle. The lip gloss is super moisturizing too and has cashmere fibers and vitamins A, C, and E. The eye shadow wash is a water-based liquid-to-powder
shadow that goes on smooth and didn’t crease all day!
I’m also loving the Shine Lip Color with SPF 20, a sheer lipstick that comes in a sleek silver tube and smells delicious. The lightweight formula has vitamins A, C and E and is super moisturizing. Along with the SPF, the 8 shades give you great lip color options for summer.
And Hallelujah! Oil Free Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30! For those of us who suffer from oily skin and acne, it can be hard to find a foundation that is oil free, but won’t dry out your skin, isn’t super heavy (intended to cover up spots?) and contains sunscreen. The Oil Free formula is just like the original Sheer Color tinted moisturizer, without the oil. The coverage is definitely sheer - I didn’t feel like I was wearing a mask of foundation. It helped keep afternoon shine at bay and didn’t crease. Plus, having a multitasking formula (moisturizer, SPF and foundation) can help make your beauty routine a snap. It also helps when you travel - fewer bottles to pack.
The most fun to play with is the Limited Edition Summer Eyeshadow Palette. It contains six of Stila’s best-selling and all-new eye shadows in subtle metallic shades. I say subtle because they have a subtle shimmer to them - no glitter. But definitely stick to Sun (peach), Prize (pale gold), Wheat (beige) or Kitten (pale pink) for day time. For night time, or if you have a dark complexion, venture into Ray (copper) or Mystic (aqua blue). I’m pretty fair skinned, but all the shades worked well on me. Lightly applied they gave a hint of shimmery color - adding a little more kicked it up a notch and brought out my (slight) tan. Even Mystic, which is a daunting-looking blue-green, looked good lightly applied or layered under one of the more subtle shades. Even though the palette is geared towards summer, I’ll definitely be using it year round!
